FIFA GIVES A DEADLINE FOR THE FKF ELECTIONS.

The Sports Disputes Tribunal on Tuesday stopped the Football Kenya Federation repeat elections and invited the world football governing body FIFA to appoint a committee which will take over the Kenya’s football matters.

The ruling was delivered via a teleconference through the chairperson John Ohaga which took a maximum time of 2 hours 35minutes to conclude the process.

Ohaga nullified the electoral process that was one step near to the national election polls that includes the national executive committee, the president and vice president which was set to occur on the 27th March 2020.

He also gave an order to the national office of (NEC) members now lack jurisdiction to reconvene and kick off another process towards the third fresh elections.

However, the FIFA body gave a deadline of the election process which should be by 30th March 2020.

FOOTBALL KENYA FEDERATION (FKF) CANCELS MATCHES COUNTRYWIDE.

It was an immediate release after the confirmation of the first case of Corona Virus ( covid 19) in Kenya, the Football Kenya Federation suspended all football competitions and leagues countrywide.

The competitions include Kenya Women Premier League, Women Division One League, all FKF Branch Leagues, National Division One League and all academic competitions.

However, the last matches which were played were on the 16th March 2020 which werebehind closed doors and for the player’s precautionary measures they were not allowed to handshake before or after the matches.

Furthermore, the FKF advised all clubs both national and grass root level to cancel and suspend all non-essential activities that include training sessions, unplanned engagements and team travels.

The federation is actively monitoring the developments of the Corona virus in Kenya and beyond. This decision has been reached to safeguard the safety of all football players, fans and the public in general.

St Paul’s soccer team moves to the fourth position in the Kenya university sports association (KUSA).

The 2-1 win for St. Paul’s over j.k.u.a.t city on Saturday last weekend made it successful for them to move to the fourth position in the league making it able to compete for the tittle.

Goals scored by Erick Uto and James Mwanthi helped the team collect three points and proceed to position four at the Kenyatta university grounds.

St pauls team with 47 points at the 4th position with 6 matches left can make it to the top of the table within three winning matches. The difference of about 10 points with the league leaders Kenyatta university main campus.

According to the team captain Gabriel Ochieng said “it is so difficult to move the first position because the leading team has to lose three consecutive matches and one draw which will make easy for us while setting our minds in winning four matches. By this it will make my team at the top and as you know how difficult is to win in the KUSA league.

UEFA Champions leagues back in action

As the quarter finals draw was done and surprisingly four clubs from the English premier league proceeding to the quarters, will the same spirit continue till the end?U

Tottenham will be welcoming fellow English premier league team Manchester city at the newly White Hart Lane tomorrow night. Tottenham which lost their last match against Liverpool will try to get their game back and start striking again.

On the other hand, Manchester city who won their semi finals and proceeded to the F.A finals yesterday evening against Brighton will a 1-0 lead. Remember that Manchester city proceeded to the UEFA quarter finals with a huge win of 7-0 against Schalke 04 and have the capability of reaching the finals.

The other match will be Liverpool hosting Fc Porto from Portugal at the Anfield arena which will be kick off tomorrow night. Liverpool who are now on top of the table with two points ahead Manchester city in the premier league and won their last match against tottenham on the 90th minute of the game.

On the other hand, Fc Porto is at the second position with a draw on [points with the Portugal league leaders Fc Benfica. Porto won against Boavista last Friday have the capability of facing Liverpool where some of their injured players are back.

All looks set for the African Cup of Nations 2019

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected Egypt as the hosts of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) after their executive meeting in Dakar, Senegal.

South Africa and Egypt were the only two nations to submit bids for the tournament, which is only two and a half months away from kicking off, after Cameroon were dumped as hosts late last year.

Executive committee of CAF revealed Egypt as the nation to replace Cameroon as 2019 Afcon hosts because of Cameroons delays in infrastructure and security concerns.

This year’s tournament will be unique because the competition has been expanded to 24 nations and has moved from the usual January slot to June.

Egypt last hosted the Afcon in 2006 – for South Africa it was 2013 – they’ve hosted on four occasions in total compared to South Africa’s two.

Last weekend, the 24 participating teams were confirmed, including three nations; Burundi, Mauritania and Madagascar, participating for the first time and Kenya is back since 2004.

The following are all 24 teams that have qualified for the continent’s most prestigious football tournament.
